Noha még nem tisztulnak a díjszezon fő esélyesei, azért abban sokan egyetértenek, hogy a 2016-os Oscar eddigi egyetlen stabil pontja a Spotlight, ami egyelőre befutónak tűnik. Ugyanakkor azért Washington, New York, Boston stb. kiosztotta a maga díjait és elég vegyes a felhozatal. Kapott díjt Tom McCarthy, Ridley Scott, de még George Miller is. Most viszont itt vannak a 2016-os Golden Globe díjasok és bizony 1-2 meglepetéstől eltekintve a várt jelölteket kaptuk. Itt van a Carol, a Spotlight, a Metőexpedíció és a Brooklyn is.
